After years of trying different therapists and doctors for my anxiety, a friend (who is a therapist, himself) recommended Tony. I am so glad I took his recommendation.  Tony laid out a concise plan of action and guided me through different treatment modules. The work he does is real and tangible. I’ve struggled with panic attacks for almost 20 years. After a few months with Tony, I finally have a handle on them! His hours are great. His office is easy to access. And most importantly, he’s a truly calming presence when you’re going thru a storm. Highly recommend!

When I first met Tony and began work with him, I was crippled by anxiety. My daily life was full of terror. I never knew when anxiety would strike. It was physically debilitating to the point where I couldn’t drive.  The surges of pressure in my chest and the trembling in my hands made even sitting to watch tv or read a book nearly impossible. But the weekly work with Tony, both during our zoom sessions and the at home practice, taught me simple tools to alleviate my anxiety and to process and handle it any time it rose up.  It took a few months, but the anxiety dissipated. And when it did flood back in, I was able to use the tools Tony taught me to calm it. I honestly didn’t think therapy would work. I’d started to believe anxiety was “just the way I am”.  That’s how hopeless I felt.  But it DOES work. I look back at the day to day I was suffering through before I met Tony and how I feel now, and it is night and day. I rarely experience anxiety now and when I do I understand it and can observe it and release it. It’s totally possible to heal and to not be afraid. Just breathe. Know that you aren’t broken, and healing is right around the corner with some patience and a few tools.

Navigating a lifelong battle with anxiety, panic, and intrusive scary thoughts (feelings of being trapped inside reality, and existential horror) has been my reality. The struggle intensified when thoughts of becoming a father surfaced in my marriage, plunging me into a vortex of negative sensations, low self-worth, and despair. EMDR entered my life through a friend tackling sex-love addiction. Amidst anxiety attacks and intrusive thoughts, he shared Tony Madril’s name, emphasizing the remarkable success in treating past trauma.
My initial encounter with Tony was unlike any other therapist relationship. His focus on bodily sensations and the origin stories behind my thoughts and compulsions reshaped my journey. Around a month into our sessions, a renewed sense of drive and purpose emerged. As months passed, my relationship with anxiety underwent a transformation. Tony also introduced me to a book that fundamentally shifted my perspective on emotions (No Bad Parts by Richard C. Schwartz).
Tony’s method, rooted in internal family systems and ego states, proved immensely valuable. His guidance became a catalyst for change.
